My name is Chris Peacock. I am a 3d artist currently working at Vigil Games, where I’m hard at work creating environments for a top-secret game (now that Darksiders is all finished). I’ve been an avid game player since the good old NES days and always try to get in a little gaming. I generally play a lot of platformers and action games and just can’t seem to get enough of the horror games (I need more horror games!). I’m full of ideas that I never seem to have enough time to explore properly.
I grew up in the cool northern regions of Arizona where I played lots of video games, ran around in the outdoors, and jumped off of bridges and cliffs (into water). After high school, I traveled far away to school and studied at the Columbus College of Art and Design in Ohio where I graduated Cum Laude with a BFA in Illustration. After school, I got my first break into the industry at Acclaim Entertainment working at their motion capture department in New York. While I was there, I worked on mo-cap clean up and tracking work for a ridiculous number of games. After hours, I camped out there and learned 3ds max inside and out. After about three years at Acclaim, I was finally ready to try my hand at doing 3d art for games. So I packed up and moved cross-country to join the west coast video game industry. I worked at Treyarch for a bit, then worked at Neversoft and made a ton of Tony Hawk games. In October 2007 I packed up once again and moved to Texas to start my current job at Vigil.
My wife is a children’s book illustrator (and video-game player) who is often working late nights as well. We enjoy staying in haunted hotels hoping to catch sight of a real ghost (none yet unfortunately). We currently reside in Austin with our large cat who enjoys spilling our drinks.
